Mom and Dad thought if we could take a picture with 3 dogs, they'd try 5. Left to right is Haiden (Whitney's), Maya (Darbie's), Pongo (mine), Lola (mine and Dad's), and Hudson (mine).
Thanksgiving Recap
It was such a nice 5 days off! On Thursday morning we went to the Tuckers' for Thanksgiving brunch. We enjoyed doing Thanksgiving a little earlier this year and spreading out some of our eating!
We took a nice little break in the afternoon and rested before starting round two. Thanksgiving dinner was at the Millers. We TOTALLY over-ate. Everything was so good! We enjoyed visiting with the whole Taylor/Miller/Tucker clan.
The worst part of Thanksgiving is missing the ones we can't be with. This was my first time in 29 years to not have Thanksgiving with my family. Graham and I are trying to do the rotating schedule, but it's still hard. It really worked out fine and I think we all benefited from not having to rush around to make everyone happy.
On Saturday we had a party to watch the back to back governors' cups. Clean Old Fashioned Hate, followed by the Iron bowl. It was by far the biggest party we've had yet at casa de Tucker. 17 people and 4 dogs! The two TVs worked out well, if only the weather had cooperated (I had big plans for a TV on the deck). Anyway, Tech FINALLY broke Georgia's winning streak, but unfortunately Alabama was able to do the same. If you have to lose, at least do so in good company (with lots of beer, dips, and chili's).
Tonight we celebrated Dad's birthday at our house (key lime martini's anyone?). Chris and Whitney grilled steaks and Darb made her famous peanut butter pie. It was wonderful. Our meal rivaled Thanksgiving dinner just two days ago! Although it was good, my body will thank me if I fast for the next week.
Mom and Dad are going to be out of town this week, so I get to spend some time with my sweet Lola girl!
